Ingredients


For Chicken Masala


 

  • Chicken | 2 breast piece
  • Onion | 3
  • Green chilly | 2
  • Ginger | 2tsp
  • Turmeric powder | ¼ tsp
  • Black pepper powder | 1tsp
  • Curry leaves | 10 leaves
  • Coriander leaves | 1tbsp
  • Salt | to taste
  • Oil | 2tbs

 


For String Hopper


 

  • Rice flour | 2 cups
  • Water | as required to make soft dough
  • Salt | to taste

How to Cook!



Step – 1

  1. Marinate Chicken breast with turmeric powder and salt.keep it for 10 minutes in the freezer.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, fry the marinated chicken breast for 15 minutes and once it is cooked change it into a plate and shred it.
  3. Add chopped onion to same fried oil and saute until soft.Add chopped green chili and crushed ginger and curry leaves, saute till the raw smell disappear.
  4. Add the shredded chicken to this and combine evenly.cook in very low flame for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  5. Add chopped coriander leaves, combine well and remove from flame. Keep it ready.

Step – 2

  1. Take rice flour in a bowl. To this add water with enough salt little by little and knead to a smooth and soft dough.

Step – 3

  1. Heat a steamer with enough water and keep it ready.
  2. Cut banana leaves into squares and apply oil to it.
  3. Fill enough rice flour dough in the string hopper press and press it in the banana leaf. Top it with little-prepared chicken masala, again press the dough over it.
  4. Steam this for about 15 minutes and Remove it from the flame and serve hot.

You can Substitute chicken masala with beef masala or any seafood masala
