Having a family of not so huge fans of Vadas and dealing with leftover Vadas, I finally tried this recipe and everyone was asking for a second bowl of this spicy tangy Rasam Vadas!!Heres how you make them

Ingredients


For Vada


  1. Chana Dal / Kadalai Paruppu – 1 cup
  2. Onion – 1 medium size chopped
  3. Green Chillies – 3 chopped finely
  4. Ginger – 1 tbsp chopped finely
  5. Curry Leaves – small handful
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Oil – for deep frying

 


For Rasam


  1. Tamarind pulp – as ur taste
  2. Water – 3 cup
  3. Coriander Powder – 1.5 tbsp
  4. Chilli Powder – 2 Tsp
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Garlic – 10 cloves crushed
  7. Curry leaves – a handful

How to Cook!


  • Soak chana dal for 3 to 4 hours. Drain it. Add it to a blender and grind coarsely.
  • Now add salt and other ingredients of vada and mix well.
  • Take a small portion and flatten it slightly. Fry it in hot oil until golden and crispy. Drain and set aside.
  • Now Take the rasam ingredients in a large pot and bring it to boil.
  • Add in fried vada and simmer for 10 min.
  • Now turn off the heat and cover the pot, soak it for 1 hours.Serve hot
