This is my all time favourite recipe .I really enjoy eating this with some hot parathas .And they are really yum .Mutton is a great source of proteins , vitamins and minerals . It is a rich source of iron , zinc and vitamin B12 . It really helps in prevention of anemia .Goat meat help in reduction of inflammation .So basically mutton is both tasty and a very healthy meat .My mom used to make this during special family gettogethers and I really love this .Hot parathas with a spoon of desi ghee is a great combination with this tasty mutton recipe .The fried caramalised onions add great flavour to this roast .This is too good .Do give it a try guys .

Ingredients
For Marination
- Mutton | 1/2 Kg
- Chilly powder | 1/4 Tsp
- Turmeric powder | 1/4 Tsp
- Coriander powder | 1/4 Tsp
- Water | 1/4 cup
- Salt | to taste
For Masala
- Oil | 3 Tbsp
- Onion | 1
- Coconut chunks | 2 Tbsp
- Shallots | 7
- Ginger | 1 Tbsp
- Garlic | 2 Tbsp
- Green chillies | 7
- Curry leaves
- Chilly powder | 1/2 Tsp
- Turmeric powder | 1/4 Tsp
- Coriander powder | 1/4 Tsp
- Garam masala | 1/2 Tsp
- Pepper powder | as required
- Salt | to taste
How to Cook!
Step – 1
- In a pressure cooker add washed and drained mutton pieces
- Then add chilly ,turmeric and coriander powder
- Add required salt
- Give this a mix and close and cook for 1 whistle
- After 1 whistle turn the flame to low and cook for another 15 minutes.
Step – 2
- In a pan ,add oil and fry chopped onion until golden brown.Keep it aside
- Then add coconut chunks ,fry them to golden brown.
- Now add shallots, ginger, garlic ,green chillies and curry leaves. Saute them well
- Now add all the masala powders and give it a mix.
- Add the cooked mutton pieces and stir and dry it.
- Finally add pepper powder .
- Garnish it with fried onions and enjoy
